I have a love/hate relationship with the Proverbs 31 chic. At times, she prompts me to be a better wife, mother, woman and other times she only to stands to remind me of what I am NOT accomplishing or being. So, depending on my mood, I may wander by and pay that chapter a quick visit or I may avoid it like the plague.
Well, the other day I was feeling inspired to get some spring cleaning done and (since I had gotten up early and therefore free of "you slept through the alarm clock for an hour again!!" guilt) I felt it safe to visit with my ancient friend that morning.
I know the spot in my Bible well. So, it fell there with no hesitation. And, in my reading the familiar verses, something jumped out at me. "...and she plans the day's work for her servant girls..." (vs 15) I used to get really annoyed by this passage and think 'well, if I had servant girls maybe I could do a lil' vineyard planting myself!" But guess what!? I do have servant girls!! One is named Maytag and the other Kenmore!! And she had to be a member of Flylady cause she did it first thing in the morning! LOL It was like a light bulb went off over my head. All the organized people I know (my best friend, my mom, my mom-in-law) they all do a load of laundry FIRST thing in the morning. They run their dishwasher at night and unload it FIRST thing. Wow. Why didn't i think of that? So along with the Lord having new mercies every morning, maybe that's when the grace for house cleaning is in abundance, too. Not saying I am committing to it yet, just thinking that chic may have been on to something.

Very clever use of your servant girls. Let's hope you don't wear them out and they quit on you.
